First Friday on Richmond Row
When: Friday, August 5, 5pm - 9pm.

First Friday events are a trend that is catching on in many cities in North America. Usually centered around art galleries and other cultural happenings; businesses and organizations host an opening or special event on the First Friday of each month. Brad at Gift of Art started this idea in London this year, with twenty to thirty downtown businesses joining his efforts each month. It's a great way to bring people downtown. I attended my first First Friday event in Philadelphia last year in conjunction with the National Council for Education on the Ceramics Arts - NCECA Conference. There were over twenty galleries within a four sqare block area and it was estimated that 7000 people attended! Imagine closing the streets for art! Please come down and see me at Gift of Art on Richmond Row this Friday night, and remember that the "First Friday" of each month there will be interesting things happening on Richmond Row!!
For more information please read the First Friday flyer.
